The first AJC workshop
The CIT has held its first workshop on the Agreement concerning Journey Continuation in respect of International Passenger Traffic by Rail (AJC). It was the perfect opportunity to review its application.
Excellent attendance for this first edition
Over 50 people, including representatives from undertakings not participating in the AJC, attended this first workshop on the agreement.
The online workshop was held in the afternoon following the CIV Committee meeting.
It had two goals: to encourage more undertakings to participate in the AJC and to provide an opportunity for those already participating to share their experiences.
Workshop overview
The first part of the workshop explained what the AJC is and its scope, enabling undertakings not yet participating in the AJC to gain a better understanding of how it works.
In the second part of the workshop, undertakings discussed various case studies. These discussions showed that some clarifications in the AJC might be necessary.
Participating in the AJC
The AJC is an agreement open to any undertaking, regardless of whether it is a member of the CIT.
The agreement offers a simple solution for any passenger stranded between two trains and who would not otherwise legally have a right to continue their journey.
Any undertaking interested in joining the AJC or wanting more information about it should contact the CIT General Secretariat (info@cit-rail.org).
