Second Executive Committee Meeting of 2021

On 23 September 2021, the Executive Committee met in Gdansk during the TRAKO trade fair to prepare the upcoming General Assembly. The key decisions are summarised below.

Under the lead of Chair Maria Sack (DB AG), the Executive Committee made preparations for the upcoming CIT General Assembly on 25 November in Bern. Due to continuing travel restrictions in force amongst members, this year’s General Assembly will be a “hybrid” event:  members can either attend in-person in Bern, or by video conference.

The key topics discussed by the Executive Committee during its meeting were succession planning for the CIT Secretary-General following his retirement in mid-2023, and elections to fill a vacancy on the Executive Committee.  The meeting also discussed the 2022 budget and a “COVID-19 rebate” whereby CIT members will receive financial relief during 2022 in the shape of significantly-reduced membership fees. Lastly, the Executive Committee discussed the Programme of Work for 2022 to be submitted to the General Assembly for approval.
