COTIF

The Convention concerning International Carriage by Rail (COTIF) applies in Europe, the Maghreb and the Middle East. OTIF Member States apply the majority of the appendices to COTIF (the CIV, CIM, RID, CUV, CUI, APTU and ATMF Uniform Rules). A summary of the geographical scope of the convention is shown below. Regulation concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID)

The Regulation concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID) forms Appendix C to COTIF, and has an annex. This Regulation applies to international traffic. The RID Committee of Experts of OTIF takes decisions on proposals to amend Appendix C to COTIF and its annex.
