The 27th CIV Commission in Copenhagen organised by DSB

The 27th CIV Committee meeting was hosted by DSB in Høje Taastrup, Copenhagen. Isabelle Saintilan (Eurostar) chaired the Committee and guided participants through the meeting.

The meeting offered the opportunity to share and receive new information about European-level initiatives, particularly the proposal for a Regulation on passenger rights in the context of multimodal journeys (MM PRR) and the recent European Commission initiatives to amend the Rail Passengers' Rights Regulation (Rail PRR), including the targeted revision of the Rail PRR. This important new initiative again makes reference to the CIT product, the Agreement on Journey Continuation (AJC).

The CIV Committee approved amendments to the AJC with the aim of digitising delay confirmations. The next steps in this process were explained, as the transition to a digital delay confirmation will be managed by UIC using eTCD.

With the support of the CER, the CIT attracted new carriers to join the AJC last year, including the Swedish operator Snälltåget.

The CIV Committee also approved new developments in passenger claims handling, which will be implemented in the Agreement on Claims Handling (AIV), as well as modifications to the CIT General Conditions of Carriage (GCC-CIV/PRR).

These revised passenger traffic products will take effect on 14 December this year.

The CIT would like to thank DSB, particularly Nicolaj Åbroe Møller, for their support and for organising the CIV Committee meeting in Copenhagen (Høje Taastrup).

The next CIV Committee meeting will take place in Luxembourg in September 2026.
