The International Rail Transport Committee’s workshop for LTG LINK in Vilnius blessed with brilliant sunshine

The CEO of LTG Link, Kristina Meidė, opened the event and welcomed the participants. In the first presentation, Gilles Mugnier, Secretary General of the CIT, delivered an introduction to CIT’s work in general.

A variety of topics were addressed and discussed during the event. The main passenger rights were explained. The General Conditions of Carriage (GCC-CIV/PRR) developed by the CIT were also discussed. Both topics prompted questions and answer in an interactive exchange amongst participants

Specific case law examples on passenger rights were also explored. The CIT presented several case studies and emphasised its support for member railways in legal disputes.

Another topic on the agenda was data protection and its impact on ticket booking and claims handling, addressing the implications of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the CIT Manual on Data Protection (MDP).

Pragmatic solutions for international claims under the CIT AIV agreement and Ticketing were also discussed in detail, with international standards for electronic and paper tickets as well as mandatory rules and recommendations in the MIRT being commented on.

The meeting encouraged an in-depth discussion and a robust exchange of questions and answers on all the topics covered.

The CIT would like to express its thanks to Rokas Kolovskis for organising this event.
